Ring Buffer vs Array Buffer
This discussion highlights the change in the approach to embedded coding. Back in the asm days, the code was highly optimised to save rom and ram space. This got translated in C....

Boost MC34063
I wouldn't say the 34063 is junk - it was good for it's time, but there are much simpler and better solutions these days. It's only advantage is it's cheap and widely available....

Boost MC34063
sounds like your inductor is not correct. You probably need more inductance, or the inductor is saturating, thus causing peak currents.

Ring Buffer vs Array Buffer
It’s an architectural decision. There are many ways you can skin a cat - some are more effective than others. So whilst you can do what you’ve suggested, convention would suggest...

Solved: simple bit shifting problem
If the data is stored lsb first, surely you want to do a right rather than left shift?

Voltage disturbance
For all we know it could be the 12V supply being a switched mode putting hash into the measurement.

Can anyone explain this arduino code, and help me figure out how to do something similar in ASF?
The basis is to detect the response based on different frequencies. The timer is used to generate a frequency on a port pin. The analog value is read from the circuitry averaged...

Voltage disturbance
Looks like bad measurement technique. Ensure the oscilloscope probe is grounded to the 0V of your circuit. It is unlikely the adm3485 is a problem. Check regulator output first.
