Hello, I am having a hard time finding a documented/working project for the SAM3Xd devices which does USB serial emulation. My understanding is that there is a built in driver for windows so the MCU only has to fulfill the required USB requests. The problem is the USB system still looks pretty complicated and I would prefer to start with a working project.

There's the Arduino Due code for the "native USB port."

I believe that their "pluggable USB" framework is relatively portable between SAM3X, SAMD, and even ATmega32u4, which is probably a pretty good thing.

Top Tips:

  1. How to properly post source code - see: https://www.avrfreaks.net/comment... - also how to properly include images/pictures
  2. "Garbage" characters on a serial terminal are (almost?) invariably due to wrong baud rate - see: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/serial-communication
  3. Wrong baud rate is usually due to not running at the speed you thought; check by blinking a LED to see if you get the speed you expected

Thanks, I will look at that. I had hoped there would be something that was a little more tutorialish but it looks pretty good.
