Unable to debug anything on SAM V71 Xplained board

Hi all,
I've had a problem suddenly come up with my V71 Xplained board which has stumped me.

 

When I program the board with AS7 and try to debug nothing happens in that my program does not appear to run. When I pause the execution it opens the disassembly window and I'm not sure what is going on there. This occurs with code which has previously executed with no problems.

 

I think this started last night when I inadvertently tried to debug something on the board while another instance of AS7 was already connected to the board and debugging. So I might have corrupted something then. I also took the board on a plane four days ago without the anti-static bag, if that is relevant. However, I can still connected to the EDBG and read the device signature and target voltage. So all is not totally lost. 

 

Is there anything I can do to try and further diagnose the problem and figure out if the board is dead?

So just to clarify, you are saying you can't debug the code.. but does it execute if you just flash it?? Trying to narrow down if its a dead board, or if it's a software problem.

Toggling IO pins doesn't work, so I suspect it's not executing at all.

Have you attempted to use the ERASE jumper to completely wipe the chip before reflashing an image? If not try that.. The fact that you can read the dev signature would indicate to me that the board is probably fine.

 

How about fuses? Are you able to read those out fine?

I have erased with the pin jumper to no avail. I can read fuses no problems.

I had previously "updated" the EDBG firmware with the version which was on my computer (3.22), which didn't appear to do anything. After reinstalling AS with the most recent version I was able to update to v3.25 and the combination of either that or the latest AS version has fixed the problem. Thanks for your time!
