Does anyone play with the Cortex-A???

I would imagine that most users on Cortex-A would be using an OS such as Linux and, therefore, not be concerned with the low-level nitty-gritty.

Well, no.   I mean, I've got a couple of Raspberry Pi boards (unused), but I'm just having a hard time figuring out a use-case for something that powerful that doesn't justify jumping all the way up to one of those spare "obsolete" x86 laptops or tablets will a full OS.

Lots of things to play with at the AVR performance/ease-of-use point and I've branched out to SAMD-class ARM chips, but  ... can't see Cortex-A class without an OS, and can't see going to an OS other than linux or android.  :-(

I'm running my own RTOS, FAT32/exFAT, IPv4 stack compressions algorithms, ect ect on the Cortex-A
