I was wondering if there is a way to download ASF locally for the most recent SAM chips to come out? I know you can do this with older versions, however those releases don't have support for the chip I am using (ATSAME51J20A).. A similar comparison is when using Kinetis parts you can download the KSDK for your chip and then include the needed files into your project.
I don't really wan't to use Atmel Start to include the "ASF" files for my chip since they only include exactly what you configure in start, which then needlessly deletes and re downloads your entire "SDK" structure.. Not only that, but it makes my project even more dependent on Atmel Studio, which I do not want. I am using git for version control and would like to just have the latest ASF stored as a separate repo and included as a submodule into my source repository.. Also, I would like the ability to move to a different IDE and toolset if possible.
Hopefully it makes sense what I am after.. I think it does.. :)
