Programming SAMB11 ultra-low power Bluetooth SMART microcontroller

Hello Everyone,

 

I'm interested in the Atmel SAMB11 ultra-low power Bluetooth SMART microcontroller for a project I am working on. I've looked on the product data sheet, and online forums and nowhere can I any information about how this device is to be programmed. Is there a special ISP designed for this unit? 

 

An ISP I looked at is the Atmel-ICE. Would this ISP work for programming the SAMB11 MCU?

 

Any help or support you can provide me with is much appreciated.

Yes, you can use ATMEL-ICE in order to program the ATSAMB11 MCU without any issues.

Any SWD programmer should do. I have both Atmel-ICE and Atmel Power Debugger. Both work fine.

 

For programming speed the Atmel ICE can be a lot faster.

 

Atmel Studio has a slider for the SWD frequency, defauilt is 2MHz, max is 10Mhz. From what I see there are actually just 2 speeds. Once I put the frequency about ~4Mhz the programming is about 2 times faster. Any higher frequency and the programming speed stays the same.

 

This is with Atmel ICE. With the Power Debugger I can only program at the slow speed.
